This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced systematic reviewer to join a multidisciplinary academic team based in the DECIPHer (Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement) and Bristol Appraisal and Review of Research (BARR) research groups within the School of Social and Community Medicine, University of Bristol.
The mental health of young people has been the focus of a range of preventative interventions. These interventions are typically complex with well-defined, multi-level components based on theory or a logic model. When commissioning, or designing, future interventions it is vital to understand which components contribute to making the intervention successful (or not). We are conducting a mixed method systematic review to identify the components which characterise preventive mental health interventions, specifically those targeting depression, anxiety, and conduct disorder within a school setting. The results of this systematic review will feed forwards to a network meta-analysis and economic evaluation. Candidates with experience of systematic review for informing these statistical analyses are especially welcomed, but this is not essential.
The successful applicant will be a capable, hard-working, motivated person, able to take responsibility and work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. They will also possess excellent writing and communication skills. Funding is available until 30/10/17 in the first instance.
The University is committed to creating and sustaining a fully inclusive culture. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
