The aims of the ELAStiC project are to:

  • determine pathways into alcohol use and misuse and the life-course effects of alcohol misuse on health and well-being
  • access existing longitudinal data and link them with routine health and administrative data and to develop statistical methods and modelling techniques to analyse and interpret them
  • understand the impact of varying definitions of alcohol use on outcomes
  • produce multi-disciplinary outputs which are relevant to academics, policy makers and practitioners and challenge harmful alcohol use in the UK and the world.
