The 2014 meeting of the DECIPHer Scientific Advisory Board took place on Friday 17 October in Cardiff. The Scientific Advisory Board meets on an annual basis to provide independent external review, advice and support on the operation and strategic development of DECIPHer. At the meeting, presentations were given by DECIPHer staff and students on key projects and aspects of DECIPHer’s work – many of which are also highlighted in our recent newsletter. Feedback from the Board was extremely positive, particularly in terms of the methodological innovation, rigour and impact of DECIPHer’s work, and the work undertaken by DECIPHer in developing the next generation of high-quality public health researchers.
It is great to have such positive and encouraging feedback from the Scientific Advisory Board on all aspects of our work this year. While there is never any room for complacency everyone in DECIPHer should feel very proud that DECIPHer II has got off to such a strong start.
– Professor Rona Campbell, Director of DECIPHer
The DECIPHer Management Board also met recently, on 7 November 2014. Professor Elizabeth Treasure, Deputy Vice-Chancellor at Cardiff University, who chaired the meeting, has blogged about it here.
