South West Public Health Scientific Conference 2017

The planning group from the South West Public Health Scientific Conference would like to thank all those who attended the conference on the 14th March which took place at the Mercure Bristol Holland House Hotel. The aim of the Scientific Conference is to showcase both service and university based public health research and evaluation from across the South West. The conference was well attended by a wide range of public health academic and service professionals throughout the region. The conference played host to a good balance of plenary, parallel and poster presentations.

This year posters were presented electronically again but in addition, poster presenters were given time to present their poster orally during dedicated sessions. Poster presenters were also welcomed to answer any questions on their poster during the extended tea, coffee and lunch breaks. The additional time factored into the programme for networking and poster viewing was welcomed by delegates.

Overall, initial feedback on the conference is very positive. A big thank you to all those who contributed to the conference organisation to ensure the day was such a success.
