Course details
The aim of this one-day course, led by Dr Rhiannon Evans, is to provide participants with a working knowledge of debates, theory and methodological innovation in the adaptation of interventions for new contexts. Teaching will focus on recent DECIPHer led MRC-NIHR funded methodological guidance on adaptating interventions to new contexts.
What you’ll learn
- When and why it might be more appropriate to adapt an existing intervention rather than developing a new one
- Key debates, concepts and principles in relation to intervention adaptation
- How to select existing interventions for new contexts and consider intervention-context fit
- How to plan for and undertake adaptations
- How to decide what type and extent of evaluation (and monitoring of implementation) is needed for adapted interventions
Who it’s for:
Researchers, PhD students, practitioners and policy makers interested in the development and evaluation of complex interventions, specifically in public health. No prior knowledge is assumed.
